The Sunyata Freediving Liveaboard is a three-day, two-night journey through the calm, wildlife-rich waters of Golfo Dulce aboard a spacious catamaran.
More than just a freediving adventure, this expedition offers a rare opportunity to explore the Golfo Dulce alongside a certified Molchanovs Freediving Instructor and a Marine Biologist. For 3 days, the ocean becomes home
The setting
Your home for the journey is a spacious catamaran featuring four private cabins with double beds, each with its own bathroom, creating a level of comfort rarely found in adventure-based experiences.
With a maximum of just six guests on board, there is plenty of space to relax, unwind, and enjoy life at sea without ever feeling crowded.
Between dives and excursions, guests can lounge on deck, take in the ever-changing views of the gulf, and enjoy the simple rhythm of life on the water. The gentle movement of the boat, the sound of the ocean, and the absence of everyday distractions create an atmosphere that naturally encourages presence, connection, and relaxation.
Whether you're enjoying a morning coffee on deck, stretching into a yoga practice at sunrise, or watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of gold and pink, the catamaran becomes far more than transportation—it becomes part of the experience itself.
For three days and two nights, you'll trade busy schedules and crowded spaces for open water, fresh air, and the freedom of living at sea.
Seasonal Wildlife Encounters
While dolphins, countless fish species, sea birds and more are always present in the gulf, depending on the time of year, guests may have the opportunity to witness one of Golfo Dulce's most extraordinary natural events: the arrival of migrating humpback whales!
Each year, these gentle giants travel thousands of kilometers to the gulf, offering the possibility of unforgettable surface sightings from the catamaran as they breach, tail slap, and move through the calm tropical waters.
For freedivers, whale season can offer an even more remarkable experience. Under the right conditions, it is sometimes possible to hear the haunting songs and vocalizations of humpback whales while diving!!
While wildlife encounters can never be guaranteed, sharing the water with these incredible animals—even from a respectful distance—can become a truly unforgettable part of the journey.

The Golfo
Dulce
The Golfo Dulce, tucked away in southern Costa Rica, is one of freediving’s best-kept secrets.
This tropical fjord offers exceptionally calm conditions year-round — glassy water like something out of a dream, no waves, minimal to no current, and over 200 meters of depth!
Surrounded by pristine rainforest and rich marine life, the Golfo Dulce provides an ideal environment for peaceful diving in a setting that feels both wild and deeply supportive.

A note on pace
While this experience includes freediving, exploration, wildlife encounters, and adventure, it is not about rushing from one activity to the next.
Life aboard the catamaran follows a different rhythm—one shaped by the ocean, the weather, the wildlife, and the moment itself.
There will be time to dive, time to learn, and time to explore. But there will also be time to simply sit on deck, watch dolphins pass in the distance, listen to the rain on the water, or take in a sunset with nowhere else to be. Some of the most memorable moments of the journey are often the ones that aren't planned at all.
This is an invitation to slow down, disconnect from the noise of everyday life, and experience the ocean the way it was meant to be experienced—not as something to pass through, but as a place to belong.
