Breathwork
Pranayama breathwork serves as an invaluable ally in freedive training, offering a profound gateway to enhance breath control, lung capacity, and mental focus.
Through deliberate techniques like Kapalabhati or alternate nostril breathing, practitioners engage in controlled inhalation and exhalation, optimizing oxygen intake and expulsion. These practices train the body to efficiently use oxygen, crucial for prolonged breath-holding during freediving. By incorporating rhythmic breathing patterns, such as the 'box breathing' method, divers can steady their heart rate, calming the mind and increasing their ability to withstand extended periods underwater.
Pranayama not only nurtures physical endurance but also cultivates a deep mind-body connection, fostering a serene mental state essential for the challenges of freediving, where focus, relaxation, and breath control interlace in the depths of the ocean.
What we offer
With all of our freediving courses, we include foundational breathwork techniques as part of our warm up, as well - we include a dedicated pranayama session in our Molchanovs training programs. We also offer breathwork sessions separate from any freedive training if you are interested in developing these specialized breathing techniques further.
